Now including some grapes from the Swartland – hence its Coastal appellation – this is still dominated by the freshness and focus of its Piekenierskloof base. Fermented in concrete eggs, it has fynbos and rooibos tea aromas, subtle, stony reduction, a leesy mid-palate and the chiselled acidity of the variety.
The Grenache Blanc comes from a dry farmed ungrafted bushvine vineyard in the Piekenierskloof at 650m above sea level. It is fermented and matured in concrete eggs and clay amphora, with 9 months on the lees, to allow the vibrancy and elegance of this wine to shine through.
