It is at the foot of the fortified church of Hunawihr that the Mittnacht family has been producing highly expressive wines since 1963. Today, it is Marc Mittnacht, André's son, his wife Paule and his son Pierre who work the 11 hectares of vines spread across the best terroirs of Hunawihr and Ribeauvillé. The diversity of the plots that make up our vineyard, the geology of our soils and our environment, but above all our desire to live our profession as naturally as possible, are all aspects that have led us to commit to organic and then certified biodynamic agriculture since 1999. Our desire not to use chemical weedkillers, fertilizers and insecticides but to let the flora and fauna present in our vines grow and express themselves, to compose our own compost or to develop our biodynamic preparations specific to the needs of the plant is based on a triple aim: to guarantee a healthy product, to give the vine the means to defend itself naturally and to preserve our terroirs to safeguard the originality of our Protected Designation of Origin.
