Margaret River is known for producing ripe and balanced wines that are true to their varietal, Domaine Naturaliste emanates and overdelivers at its price points.
Bruce Dukes, an agronomist and winemaker, started Domaine Naturaliste in 2012 and owns 35 hectares in Wilyabrub, Margaret River. The vineyards are situated 7km from the Indian ocean which provides a maritime climate with cool wet winters and warm summers, a prized combination for grape growing.
The vineyards are farmed sustainably, certified by Sustainable Wine Growing Australia. Cover crops in the vineyards add organic matter and fertilizer, which also assists drainage of the decomposed granite soils. Their sustainable philosophy continues in the winery that is fitted with solar panels, thick insulating walls to reduce the need for energy and a zero-emission wastewater treatment system.
