Located in the Penglai district of the Shandong Peninsula, Longting Vineyard is a boutique estate that has quickly become a benchmark for "fine wine" in Eastern China. Founded in 2009 by Ms. Xu Tao, the winery is situated in a region often referred to as the "Bordeaux of China," but Longting distinguishes itself through a rigorous commitment to biodynamic farming and a pursuit of pure, ethereal elegance.

The Philosophy: Nature and Harmony

Longting’s name translates to "Dragon Pavilion," symbolizing a place of peace and royalty. The estate operates under the principle of "Respecting Nature, Heritage, and Quality," which translates into some of the most meticulous vineyard management in the country.

• Biodynamic Pioneer: Longting is a leader in sustainable viticulture in China. They avoid chemical pesticides and fertilizers, focusing instead on soil health and biodiversity to ensure the vines reflect the true character of the coastal terroir.

• Maritime Terroir: Unlike the high-altitude, continental climate of Ningxia, Longting benefits from a maritime climate. The proximity to the Yellow Sea provides cooling breezes and moderate temperatures, which allows for a longer growing season and excellent natural acidity in the grapes.

The Winemaking Style

The winemaking at Longting is defined by restraint and precision. Rather than producing high-alcohol or heavily oaked "blockbuster" wines, the estate focuses on balance and aromatic lift.

• The Whites (Petit Manseng & Chardonnay): Longting is perhaps most famous for its Petit Manseng. While often used for sweet wines in France, Longting produces both dry and late-harvest versions that are celebrated for their exotic fruit notes (pineapple, mango) and electric acidity.

• The Reds (Marselan & Cabernet Franc): Their reds are known for their floral elegance and silky tannins. Their Marselan is a standout—vibrant and aromatic—while their Cabernet Franc captures the varietal's signature herbal spice and red-fruit brightness.
