Description
The Brouilly is sourced from a parcel planted on pink granite subsoil and offers a more serious style of this Cru. The final wine is aged in oak for 10 months, lending spice and depth to the bright red fruit character.
Mathieu Moron and Pierre Olivier Garcia are childhood friends that finish each other’s sentences. They began making wines in 2016; 2500 bottles in total. By day, Mathieu works as a winemaker at Domaine d’Eugenie, while Pierre Olivier works full time at Moron Garcia, renovating the house turned winery that they purchased in the centre of Nuits Saint Georges.
Mathieu admits that vines are his passion and any visit with them will be spent talking about their farming methods, which exceed organic standards. They both believe that vineyard health is synonymous with a balanced ecosystem which explains the chickens used to graze their vineyards. They use horses when they can afford to. To supplement Mathieu’s 0.4 hectares of vineyards, they also purchase grapes from like minded growers.
