Description

TWO red winemakers from TWO red wine regions produce ONE red wine that packs a punch: Meike Näkel (Ahr) and Markus Klumpp (Baden) worked HAND IN HAND to vinify a Pinot Noir. The wine is grown on loess-clay soils typical of Baden. It is the product of the passion of two winemakers combined with the expertise of two renowned red wine regions.

The vines grow on the loess/clay soils so typical of the region, which, with their high lime content, are ideal for red wines with minerality and depth. After selective hand-harvesting of the grapes and traditional maceration for two weeks in small vats (7% saignee), a barrel aging period of 12 months followed. The result is a beautifully balanced Pinot Noir with substance, depth, and captivating elegance. The clear, spicy fruit, reminiscent of sour cherry, currant, and plum, is perfectly complemented by a subtle roasted aroma with delicate cocoa flavors and a lovely spicy note (juniper, clove, licorice). On the palate, lively acidity and a fine tannin structure provide a pleasant drinking experience. It pairs very well with game and beef dishes.
