Description
Barón de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centenarias is a unique wine, both for the meticulous attention to detail during the growing season and for its subsequent vinification.
It is made from very old, pre-phylloxera vines, over 100 years old, from the areas of Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela, in Segovia. These vines are planted ungrafted and are cultivated in bush form and harvested by hand. It is also aged on lees for 6 months in Stockinger Austrian oak foudres.
This is the result of this superb wine, with freshness, energy and density, which is named in honour of Carlos Hurtado de Amézaga y Zabala, who modernised the family business during the post-war years.
