The darkest and inkiest of the lineup, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Jackson Estate Hawkeye Mountain offers a forward calling card of graphite, black plum, and wild herbs. Fleshy and full-bodied, it has ample structure, with a fresh spine of acidity and is toasty with sweet oak spice of cedar and vanilla. It’s going to need time but should prove to be a powerful, age-worthy wine with 10 or more years ahead of it.
The Hawkeye Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Sonoma County's volcanically-derived vineyards in Alexander Valley. Hawkeye Mountain is perched high above the valley floor on drastic slopes along the westward face of the Mayacams Mountains. This red wine shows deep black cherry, cassis and red currant flavors with graceful mineral tones. Artistically extracted, elegantly muscular, with chewy, soft tannins. A Cab lover's dream.
