Flinty lemon, sauerkraut, tart berry fruit, green apples and just a hint of petrol. Pure and punchy with lots of substance here. Bright acidity cuts it through before a pithy finish. Bone-dry and very pure. A little more powerful than the floral and nimble 2018, but also less demanding. A benchmark riesling from China that shows excellent varietal typicity.
The name “ShiBaiPian”, A Hundred Poems, originated in the 8th century, by the work of beloved poet DuFu, “Ode to Eight Wine Immortals”.
Crafted with grapes from the best blocks in our highland vineyard, Site 16, and harvested at night to preserve their freshness, our Reserve whites are a testament to the perfection of nature and the precision of our winemaking techniques. After three rounds of hand-sorting, the grapes are pressed before going through natural low-temperature clarification and thermo-controlled fermentation, followed by aging in French oak.
