Description
From various vineyards in the villages of Monteu Roero, Santo Stefano Roero, and Vezza d’Alba, and vines from 20-30 years, this was macerated in stainless and then aged 14 months in French oak. Wild raspberry, cherry, savoury red currant, dried herbs, and tobacco ash flood a juicy, medium-bodied palate lined with worked leather and framed with long, sticky tannins. The finish rings with saline minerality. Very impressive now, and with time ahead.
