William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
The latest release of Broadbent's NV Boal Ten Years Old exhibits aromas of ripe cherries, pecans, orange rind and honey cake. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a generous and enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and a cohesive finish.
Inspired by the passion of his father, revered wine personality Michael Broadbent, who famously called Madeira his "desert island wine," Bartholomew Broadbent embarked on a mission to revive and redefine Madeira wine. Launched in 1996, Broadbent Madeira was born from this legacy. Michael Broadbent played an instrumental role in sourcing the finest wines and perfecting the blends, standards that are still used to craft these bottlings today.
