(a ~1.9 ha monopole that is split between ~.5 ha classified as grand cru and the remaining 1.4 ha as 1er). This is aromatically similar to the 1er but with a bit more wood influence. There is however more size, weight and mid-palate concentration to the bigger-bodied flavors as well as more evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the noticeably more structured, persistent and complex finale. Often there isn’t that much difference between the two but that is certainly not the case in 2022.
