A powerful Etna red with plenty of black-cherry and licorice character, plus a robust tannin structure. However, it also has a very exciting, cool and bright side, which comes out ever more clearly at the long, racy finish. From organically grown grapes.
The Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is the largest cru in the appellation and comes from a 1.5 hectare parcel. The vines range from 50-80 years old and only 5500 bottles are made. Nerello Mascalese makes up 98% of the blend with Nerello Cappuccio at 2%. It spends 16-18 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux before bottling. This wine is always the most open and ready to drink with aromas of cedar spice and red berries and silky tannins.
