William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, smoked meats, spices and rose hips—as well as a touch of light reduction that dissipates with air—Jane Eyre's 2018 Fleurie is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, its powdery structuring tannins cloaked in a succulent core of fruit. While it's charming enough to be drunk now, it's also endowed with the substance to age.
Jane’s Fleurie (from 80 year old vines) is floral and luscious with aromas of black cherry and fragrance aided by retaining 50% whole bunches in the ferment.
Originally from Melbourne, Jane Eyre “fell in love” with Burgundy while doing work experience at Domaine Chevrot in 1998. Since 2011 she has developed her own négociant business here and now makes a range of exceptional, site-specific wines from celebrated vineyards across Burgundy and Beaujolais.
