The Hugel family is over 380 years old, since 1639 they have lived in the town of Riquewihr in Alsace, France. Today the 13th generation, Jean-Frédéric and Marc André, runs arguably one of the Alsace’s finest estates. They make a wide range of wines from the noble grape varieties of Alsace: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewurztraminer in addition to Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. Their top Rieslings Grossi Laüe (great growth) and Schoelhammer come from a single grand cru vineyard Schoenbourg and are thus are always on limited allocation and a pleasure to drink.
